The DEM-3000G model is a Development Kit prototype, featuring the PSP Go style housing. It is confirmed that at least 250 units were produced. The motherboard is labeled with a "DVT1" sticker which translates to Design Validation Stage Revision 1.

Internal Prototyping

It is confirmed that Sony did many mockups for testing button placements and general design. An example can be seen in the initial setup video of Firmware 0.990 where the buttons are clearly not functional.
