PSVita "DTPE" units are pre-alpha development unit from 2009 which is considered to be the first Playstation Vita Development Kit.
It was connected with DECR-1000 PS3 Reference Tool via 6 USB cables and DVI cable to demonstrate how the next handheld would work.
Touch screen and rear touchpad, cameras are supported via special software.
Made in Japan.
Mainboard is "LCD JIG Board rev1.0".

Naming

The model name "DTPE" is based on the model name "DTP" which was for PSP devkit/testkit.
"DTPE" most probably corresponds to: Development / Debug Tool for Portable E(mulator ?)

Serials

Serial number for DTPE does exist, however, it is just three digits.
