This page documents various prototypes of Playstation VR, specifically when it was named "Project Morpheus" from 2014 to 2015.

GDC 2014 Prototype

At GDC 2014, SCE revealed "Project Morpheus" along with few playable demos.

Head Mount Unit

Morpheus 2014 prototype featured different casing compared to retail unit (2015 prototype).
Notable differences are having no LED light on the center of the unit, headband release button being shaped triangle rather than circle.
Specs were different to retail aswell.

Processor Unit

Completely different processor unit compared to retail.
1x USB type B(?), 2x HDMI (In and Out) and DC input 12V.
Connects to Head Mount Unit by single cable.
Features reflectable material.

DVT 1.1

Head Mount Unit

Undiscovered.

Processor Unit (M-PU)

DVT 1.1 stage prototype of project morpheus processor unit.
1x Unknown port on the front, 1x USB type B, 2x HDMI (In and Out) and DC input.
Features larger housing and motherboard than retail Processor Unit (CUH-ZVR1).
Also features matt material compared to GDC 2014 prototype.
